Venture capitalists invest in early stage start-ups with the potential to change the world.

We're looking to build a diverse, energetic, and motivated team to deliver two exciting new programmes:

‘Inspire, Upskill and Network’ Members Programme: Talks, workshops, and networking events with leading venture capitalists and entrepreneurs.
‘Student VC’ programme: This exclusive opportunity will allow a select student team to be trained as VC analysts and carry out real work with Oxford start-ups, identifying opportunities for investment of £50-200k from the Campus Capital fund. (Applications for this programme open in Michaelmas 2019)

The society already has links to some of the top industry players such as:

Passion Capital - London-based seed and early-stage investor in 69 tech start-ups primarily in e-commerce, analytics, and finance.
Plug and Play Tech Centre - ‘Most active Silicon Valley venture capital firm’, making over 200 investments per year and accelerating over 1000 start-ups per year.
Campus Capital - UK’s first on-campus venture capital fund, working in partnership with several leading Universities to deliver on-campus venture capital funds.

Committee Role Descriptions:

SOCIETY EXEC COMMITTEE

The Exec Committee is responsible for managing the society and delivering the members programme. The members programme will consist of speaker events, workshops, and networking opportunities with leading venture capitalists and entrepreneurs.

President

Responsible for the strategic direction of the society. Organises the Student VC Programme in collaboration with Campus Capital. Works with Secretary, Treasurer, and other committee members to ensure smooth running of the society.

Secretary

Manages event coordination and ensures good communication within the society. Responsible for email newsletter and manages membership and ticketing for events. Takes a lead on increasing the reach of the society across Oxford.

Treasurer

Manages the finances of the society, working with the rest of committee to ensure the society is sustainable for the future. Responsible for budget, processing payments, and obtaining sponsorship together with the Partnerships Director.

Marketing Director

Generating awareness and interest, managing branding and social media, ensuring high attendance at events.

Partnerships Director

Initiating and developing relationships with corporate sponsors and industry.

STUDENT VC TEAM
